Things I'm "Digging" Lately

I made another vlog post. I can't help it, the last was really fun and I had some free time, so :/

So, if you watched that, those are some things I'm into recently. Also super psyched because my Asian Kung-Fu Generation and lynch. tickets just got here while I was posting that. I didn't mention AKFG in that video because my Gorillaz love is a little overwhelming right now, but AKFG is also something I'm getting back into after a long time. I really like there latest album to bits. Like it to bits.

And I finally got curtains, so finally the neighbors don't have to endure my naked... tada!

And then the other day in Shibuya I saw this... tada!

And that's all. Later!

Just A Shimokita Old Lady Day

So lately I've been on a long journey of sick, it seems. I caught a really bad cold and lost my voice for a while, it lasted ages, and finally I was back to normal and the vertigo hit me. Hard, too, I was barely able to work half this week. Then right at the end of the week, when it seems I'm getting better, here comes another cold. もういいわ!! D:

Needless to say, I've been doing nothing but laying as still as possible and pretending I'm an old person recently.

I did however, stumble out into the world today in search of a shower curtain and in light of my joy at spending money, I drew a postcard about it... Dun dun duuuuun!

Shimokita Baachan Day 6/7

I got the idea from a book I stumbled upon in the ladies magazines.

Cherry Coke bottle 2 by Outa Uni

It's the second half of a collection of columns drawn for Zipper magazine (bottle 1 wasn't in the store). It's super cute, though, and as the band says, a Shopping Diary, where she drew items, outfits, and coordinates etc related to fashion and her shopping adventures. There are lots of notes and cute little sidebars about failing the diet, etc. It's really adorable and super entertaining.

Random page

I love stuff like this, where I can just stare at it for hours and soak in every little detail. Anyway, I recommend it to anyone who likes things like that. Also, not so expensive, only about ¥1300. :)

Anyway, as the postcard drawing says, I couldn't find a shower curtain I liked, but I finally got a bath mat!

Cuuuuute.

The plan is to have flowers on everything in the bathroom including some fake flowers. I want it to be like a tiny garden with a cat in the middle when you open the door. Because I'm ridiculous and this is where lying as still as possible in one position all week has put my priorities.

Anyway, that's all from me. Happy June!

Unstoppable

Sometimes I make questionable decisions before work.

I really cannot stop shopping.

Just a few quick grabs before work the other day.

Top: PARK by one*way
The graphic was great and the red really popped on the black.
Also in the corner it reads "Chill the Fuck Out". The back is sheer
and glittery as well; don't know what I was thinking taking a picture
with it still in the bag.

Tights: 3COIN shop
Because for tights, that's how I roll. Three super cute prints. I
was really just roaming by moping about lack of appealing
accessories when it occured to me I haven't bought new tights
in over a year. Le gasp.

Like a gawth, ha!

Rakuten: Hit or Miss

I love, love, love to spend money. So, of course when I discovered Rakuten it was essentially the most dangerous thing for me in the world, and it also causes me to make strange decisions that I later can't understand at all.

  • Like WHY I felt I needed to own all of the Weiss Side B manga years after my obsession with the series.
  • Or WHY I though I could ever walk in 7inch heels.

So here is my most recent Rakuten Hit AND Miss whilst searching for work-appropriate tops.

This one for me was a major Hit. I wore this today actually. It's super light and comfortable and the collar is knit. I worried the sparklies would make it seem too obaachan kei, but it is surprisingly alright.

The Miss for me was from the same store.

When it's laid out for me like this, it's an immediate No D8, but on the ad it looked really cute. Goes really well with that blanket, eh!

I might keep this in a trunk until some day I'm old enough to wear it. D:

Hm. And that is all.

Underwear and Bears and Shoes Not Good For Running

I have a shopping problem, of course, so today I thought I would write a little about that. I mean, I'm not too out of control, having heard horror stories about some people's spending. But I am sometimes glad I don't own any credit cards. ♥

So these two lovelies came to greet me at the door a few days after pay day this past month.

One thing that ruins me and thrills me about Japan? Payment on delivery.

So first was this little lavender number from Peach John. It was one of their super sale items and shipped super quick. Hard to see here, but there's a little jeweled loop in the middle of the bra. Super cute!

Second were these hussylike heels from a brand on Rakuten, Soku Soko. Super cheap and a good fit, but I think my mother had a good point when I showed them to her on skype and she told me to get my health insurance settled before I wear them anywhere. D:

And that's just from the internet, haha!

Technically bought this from the last paycheck. It was so cute and affordable at ¥2900, that I had the super cute staff girl give me a call when more came in. It's by a cute brand here in the HEP5 called Jelly Beans. It's mostly amekaji style, very loose fitting tee's and denim with super cute cartoon prints!

These cute Superman underwear came from another shopping day in Shinsaibashi with my lovely Jiroko. They were 30% off at the Aimer Feel outlet and had many super cute styles of Superman and Batman to choose from, all with matching shopping bags when you purchase!

They came with these lulzy directions: XD

A few other things lately, of course, since my shopping syndrome flares up almost daily. But I've been a little better this month since I know I have to fork out a ton for my Gazette DVD on the 9th!

Anyway, just a few shopping gets from this month. Oh yeah! And the new Sweet came with a cute Cher tote, so I snatched that up, too, of course.

Might go watch some more of the Mentalist now and draw.♥

I leave you with a video from my awesome new 8MM app for iPhone I took on the walk home this afternoon. Such nice weather and the trees were so green!

That's money, honey

Good evening! ミ☆  It's been such a long time since my last update I feel super ashamed-- especially since it seems like I died at a GazettE concert, haha. But anyways, I have actually been deliberating on how to start updating for a while now. It's not that I don't have anything to update about, but rather that I have too much and I don't know where or how to begin.

So I decided that maybe the best way would just be to start from the most current and fill in the gaps! So that's my plan! Hopefully that means lots of updates here in the future. ♥

So yesterday I had a lovely date with my dear Jiroko in Shinsaibashi! We don't get to hang out just the two of us very often, so we kind of jumped on the chance to have a rare day together for donuts and shoes.

My code!

A little hard to see because my mirror's a bit dusty... eheheh! The weather's been super nice and springy recently, though, so I went in some tights, denim shorts (that you cannot see, lol), a loose, thin H&M shirt, and my netted grey Forever21 cardigan. And it's finally flats weather, so of course I broke those out quick. ♥

We met in the afternoon and went to have lunch at a Korean restaraunt in the OPA where we had some  delicious bibimbap!

It was great and I ate every single bit, despite the diet, so ha!

After that we moved on to the main shopping street in Shinsaibashi, where we wandered through shoes stores only to find failure. There were lots of lovely discounted underwear, but alas, having already bought two sets since I was last paid, I turned down a pair of sexy pink and black striped aimer feel lingerie. I mean, you can only wear so much underwear at once, right? I may go back for them after the next pay check, though, tbh. D:

Purikura with my lovely! I cannot have enough!! ♥

Shopping was not completely lacking for me, of course. It rarely is, since I have a sort of out-of-control impulse buying problem (no really, I'm terrified of myself some times). We wandered into Cecil McBee eventually, and I can never escape that store without buying something. This time I just picked up two goodies I had been eyeing over a month ago and was shocked to see they still had.

This hat I loved the last time I was in there, and it really was too cheap to pass up, since they still had it (only ¥1,260!) And especially since I never got my cancan hat last year. :/

These rings were a set for 30% off, which wasn't a bad deal. The gold is kind of a pink gold, too, and a little feminine without being delicate. Delicate jewelry isn't really to my taste. I wanted a gold ring, though, since I have accumulated a few other gold accessories since last fall and still only have silver rings.

Anyway, after that we drifted through Franc Franc and sniffed all the smelly things and settled into the Krispy Kreme for caffeine and donuts. Because apparently all we really do is eat. :D

There was one last big purchase of the day, of course, and of course it had to be...

...Tada!

We had a feeling it would be out the day before release, so we popped into Zeal Link where Jiroko very agilely snatched it from between two middle schoolers.

It made the day a little more ridiculous, you could say.

Ok, so I think Uruha may be the worst candidate for joining the mafia ever, but I significantly enjoy these pictures. This one in particular. Maybe it's the cane? The stole? The crazy quirk of those boots?

I feel like I'm in a Tarantino movie.

And that was just a completely unexpected explosion of accessories. :/

Cutie Tohya from vistlip made it in this issue, too, I was surprised to see! After that incredibly disillusioning meet and greet in Shinjuku in 2009, vistlip lost a lot of it's lustre for me, but I will always remember Tohya as being a completely overwhelming ball of cute who tried to speak Swedish to me.

He double-hand waved at me until I had completely left the room, that doll.

After all that, of course we had wine and pizza. Because all we do is eat. :D

It was surprisingly relaxing, despite our constant wanderings. A much needed Shinsaibashi date! ☆

And lately I have spent far too much money, mainly on GazettE tickets for the upcoming tour (I'm going to four shows) and it's worrying me. I need not to worry. Things will work out, right? They usually do.

Time for more Friends and then bed.

Good night!♥

Job Prep Shopping: Cosmetics (2/2)

hey, again.

A little late posting this. I'm working peak hours this week, and it's tiring me out, but I'm back with pictures of the make up I purchased on my tiny shopping trip! Lots of great stuff. ♥

My purchases!

@ Sephora
Dior BLACK OUT mascara in 099 Kohl Black: This would probably be a lot more impressive if I had purchased the mascara primer with it, but as it is, I'm kind of disappointed. My lashes appear nice and long, but they don't have the awesome volume that Lancome Hypnose gives.

tarte emphasEYES Amazonian clay waterproof liner in Black: This stuff is excellent! Definitely changed my entire perspective on eyeliner. I have been using Lancome's Artliner for so long that I didn't realize how rough I look at the end of the day until I used this in the morning before work and came home that evening looking totally fresh! This is definitely my new love.

NARS concealer in Light2 Vanilla: This is my choice concealer. It's nice and thick, but doesn't leave my skin feeling smothered. They now have an even lighter color than the one I use, haha.

@LUSH
Imperialis facial moisturizer - This is probably the best facial moisturizer I've ever used. For a few hours after applying, I don't like to touch my face because it feels oily and gross, but the effects are visible. Unfortunately, it's a bit pricey for the size of the tub. I made a noise of surprise when the cashier gave me the total and had to play it off all uncool-ly. hahahahaha

Pow Wow pop rocks lip scrub - I love this lip scrub stuff, and this one is awesome because it's made with pop rocks candy! Both tasty and great for exfoliating your lips. I have a horrible time with dry/chapped lips/skin, so this makes me feel like I can at least apply my lipstick evenly now. I think it's a little more difficult to use than the other lip scrubs because of the bulky texture of the pop rocks, though.

With all of this I got the 500 point Beauty Insider bonus tarte sample pack with lots of trial-size goodies, I've yet to test out.

 Ah, I love make-up. ♥

Also! There's an awesome giveaway going on at Moments Like Diamonds (a blog I never fail to enjoy)!

Such a cute top and other cute accessories! Everyone should enter!

Job Prep Shopping: Clothes (1/2)

hello, hello!

So last week I found out about the beginning of my new job! Yay! I've been waiting for what seems like forever, so I'm super psyched to finally get started. I first got my contract from the company only about two weeks after getting hired at B&N, but due to the lack of open positions, I've pretty much just been on hold since then. I did get offered two jobs in different prefectures since then, but I turned them down for various reasons.

Finally it's decided! I will fly into Osaka on the 26th and start my new job two days later.

Since I found out and started the planning, though, I've been hyper tense. D:

Anyway, on Friday we went to get my visa processed in Atlanta, but didn't find out until the car ride that the office was closed for Veterans' Day. So, we UPS'd it and went shopping instead. It was a great chance to pick up some work clothes for my new job.

Only thing is, I don't want to delude myself into thinking these are appropriate and then find out that I'm delusional, so any input would be awesome.

Forever21 is cheap and easy, so that's where we went.

This knit fits around the waist for a nice loose effect.

A toned-down leopard print semi-transparent sheath.

Long, loose-hemmed knit.

And a simple, pleated A-line skirt in black.

The thing is, I'm actually kind of nervous about business wear, since I've never had a job that required me wear anything but a smock, or any shirt-pants combo in coordinated black. It's been difficult for me to find good inspiration, too, so I'm giving it my best here. I'd love to hear some opinions/ideas, though. ;__;

Got this brassy necklace to go with, since the shirts kind of seem like blank canvases to me.

Finally, two simple coordinate ideas I had for the above:

Was thinking a black scarf would finish this off nicely.

I put the leopard print sheath over a black camisole and paired with a mid-thigh
length cardigan with wide cork buttons.

☆ And here's a polyvore for inspiration: Rich Girl CHIC

It was so hard for me to avoid so many cute casual pieces out right now, but there was one thing I couldn't bypass...

It's dress-length, so I thought it would be cute with leggings and boots and my poofy beanie. *___*

Anyway, that is all for clothes. I got some great make-up products, too! But I'll post them tomorrow. ♥
