Can't take the kid from the fight, Take the fight from the kid ♫

Haha at that last post, huh? I'm such trash. Anyway, how are you? It's been a while yet again, it would seem.

Rare weekend at home here. Usually on the weekends I'm pretty occupied (weekdays too), but recently there's been something of a stagnation and I'm finding myself logging more and more hours on the new Japanese Netflix.

Yoroshiku Hemlock Grove season 2.

My typical week used to be something like this:

But lately it's become something like this:

I know what you're thinking: Who is texting me? But that's irrelevant.

The thing is I don't even like Netflix that much. Japan's new startup version, at least, doesn't have much to win a person over yet. Most of the series and films are outdated or not suited to my tastes. Actually most of the time I am watching Netflix, I'm feeling bored out of my mind and like I would rather do about anything else.

I know that being really sick recently and quitting one of my jobs had a lot to do with this change, but I'm starting to feel like caged animal. I miss people. I need people. Lately I have no people.

That's why I'm going crazy.

So internet, what do you do when your life is like this? Google it, right?

Wet dish out.

An Osaka Year

Passes quickly. I came to Osaka last year on November 26th, and already it's December the next year. Somethings feel as though they happened ages ago, like the HETERODOXY lives over summer and tripping to Kobe on that day there was a crazy typhoon. But other things feel like they just happened, like getting my iPhone and doing hanami at the Osaka Castle park.

So here's to a year and many memories. ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

Halloween!

Firstly, I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! ミ☆

I was gonna update about the Predators and more of the GazettE shows today, but alas, I wanted to get to Halloween before that gets stale. I need to work on posting this stuff faster, because my memory sucks and I forget details, and then I have nothing real to look back at. DX

But anyway, it seemed like most of the big parties were the weekend before the 31st here in Osaka, but I'm not sure, since there were a lot of people milling about when the clubs let out about 1am (stupid Japanese footloose law, here you go). However, we decided to do our all-night celebration on the 31st (a Wednesday) because of whatever reason I don't remember.

The night was not extremely eventful, as we got a late start, and all kinds of things happened, but it was nice to go out for a whole night with people and wear a fun costume. People were super friendly out that night too, and the nanpa was a-happenin', haha (put your shirt on, girl!). We took pictures with people we didn't know, we drank a lot of weak gin, and some guys wrapped in toilet paper through life-saver candies at us from an open van.

Anyway, some pictures from our party...

My costume wasn't really a costume, but I wore lots of pink make up with my super pink wig from Body Line (super cheap, only 999yen). The horns are tiny clip-ins from Kreepsville666 that are adorable but super easy to break. I wore a black dress with them. Some devil wings would have been cute, but I'm too cheap and lazy.

With Jiroko at the first izakaya, whenever she took her jacket off she was flanked by mens. XD

We only went into this izakaya because the street guy was so adamant and dogeza'd us on the street, he was super cute and fawned on our table like twice before he disappeared forever. The older guy working there was super funny Osaka guy, too. Everyone's a comedian, eh. XD

K and Kate. K and I were kinda like good-angel/bad-angel esque with our wigs. Kate was a scary lolita doll. Scary!

The first of many drinks that ended in not even a real buzz for me. We went to another izakaya later, and it was the same weak stuff there too. Ah well.

Maybe the best part was all the random people wandering around taking pictures with random people, like this sexy police officer lady here. So many police officers this year, the entire time my mind was just going...

But of all, I think the officer of the year award goes to...

JUST SAYIN'.

The crazy amount of people waiting for purikura. We usually like to go twice at lease, but here it was just too crowded. While we were waiting some guy asked me if I was wearing a wig...

All in all it wasn't super exciting, but there were lots of interesting happenings, and it was fun to roam around with everyone dressed crazily. I could do it again, maybe with an earlier start next time, though.

And Happy Election Day to my fellow Americans! I was too late to register for this year's vote, but I had a beer as I wrote this post to celebrate the good news.

An Unfamiliar Ceiling

Good evening. How are you? I am sweating on the floor with a bad case of dry mouth, watching Neon Genesis Evangelion. The drug store meds I bought yesterday may or may not be fixing the plague I (and everyone else I know) have come down with, but they sure are drying out my throat. I'm also choking on cherry Vicks cough drops enough that I don't remember what my own mouth naturally tastes like.

The past two days have been weird. I feel like they've been longer than two days. Or like I've been on a trip of some sort. On Monday evening I went after work for a sort of going-away gathering for a good friend. I haven't known her very long, and I feel like we definitely didn't hang out enough, but it was really tough to see her go (though she will be back sooner than we all know, I'm sure of it). It was sort of funny when we were all laying down around the apartment to go to sleep around 4 AM or so, I think there was a dim, half-sleep stupored moment in which everyone in the apartment was coughing and I felt like maybe I was in a hospital.

The next morning we saw her to the airport and quietly retreated to our homes for some real sleep (I had a sort of nightmare actually) until that evening when we met up for dinner and some old Sailor Moon episodes.

These days I'm listening to too much Coldplay.

I got this fan by chance in a magazine at the Lawson a week or so ago and was stunned by how fucking cute it is. Then today in the Don Quixote, I found a gacha machine with little strap versions of Rei and Asuka Kitty and got Rei again. So fucking cute.

In a completely different direction, I love grey. Lately I just want to draw in grey, wrap myself in grey, speak in grey. And I love this nail polish. Finally a non-shiny grey, something that I've been unknowingly on the hunt for ever since one of my wonderful roommates a few years ago complained to me one day that she could never find a shade of sheer, plain grey fingernail polish. I guess I'm intrigued by that kind of challenge. Anyway, it's BYS, and the quality isn't great. It's kind of uneven no matter what I do, but if I just coat it on enough and gel nail finish on top, it's smokin'. And it was cheap.

Last week as well there was some flooding on my side of town. It was storming pretty hard when I got out of work on Saturday, and one of the nice office ladies lent me an umbrella, but when I got out of the subway, I was faced with this...

It's not easy to see maybe, but the water is quite deep. I was wearing some low heels and it still came halfway up my calves when I gave in and forged through.

It also extended down the entire length of the block. I walked through it disgustingly for about three minutes. I feel bad for real flood victims, because who knows what's in that water. I showered and washed my shoes and stockings out immediately when I got home of course.

Anyway, it's getting late and I need to prepare a suitable outfit for branch work tomorrow. I am nervous that people will think I'm making them sick because of my crazy voice. Oh well, nothing I can do.

Hope everyone's well this evening.
